Sharon, today is 2/07/07. I left a notebook in the class. Do you remember if anyone noticed and possibly saved it for me? I will call special education today.

I just ordered the books for your class. The assignment in class was helpful to complete the assignment due 2/13/07's. I am the one middle school student who went with the high school group. My students range in age from 13-16 years of age and I feel the high school group was the appropriate choice.

I learned more about universal design last night and I have one comment. I have the opportunity to use computer once and at the most twice a week for my classes. Do you want the unit to reflect the reality about computer availability or do want the assignment to reflect the near future when all classrooms will be equipted with computers?

Will I be able to do assignments using Quark Express?

Do you want the assignment due on 2/13/07 to be emailed or given to you in class as a hard copy? I would prefer giving you a hard copy using the software program: Quark Express.

I have zero experience using audio in Word programs. I have never had the need to use excel (use integrated pro for grades) and do not have any experience using it. However, in a class many years ago I did a couple of assignments using it.....I have forgotten how to do it at this time.

Our school has a membership to United Streaming and we use it constantly throughout our school. I will be using it as a source in my assignment.

Question: given you can manipulate pics or manipulate docs or create movies, audio- What is the barrier in doing that for special needs students?
Can websites be read by special education students?
Do they have audio support? are those areas highlighted.
Are most web sights universally designed?
Are there standards for web sites? Yes
If you are going to use technology for learning you have to make sure it is something that they can understand and learn.
For students can learn Universal Design does not support only one curriculum; however the way the curr. is developed must be understood by students. Standards remain the same.

Students have access to nimax - There are companies that will do scaning and bringing in to MWord.
How do you set it up and address as many learn. styles and learn needs as possible?
Sp. Ed teachers have the advantage of knowing how our students learn because of the IEP process. Our students are often into general education with accommodations and modifications.

That puts a hugh burden on the GE teacher who do not have this training.

Mainstreaming is appropriate with a push in model. GE teachers are upset and also without training as to multiple learning styles.

The class broke up into two sections and we brainstormed engagement, representation, and expression for the civil war - high school group.
